THE BUSH IS BACK.
Kourtney Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Solange Knowles and Gwyneth Paltrow. What do these ladies have in common? They all have a bush. Say what? And if we can believe free spirit Justine Gruwez(23) a woman who feels like a woman is a woman. Let’s get real guys: the bush is here to stay and this is why you should learn to love it.
How do guys normally respond to your hair?
“Right now I have a boyfriend who is very supportive. Before that, whenever I slept with someone I told them about my body hair before we had sex. It’s kind of wrong, I know. I still made excuses for it even though I loved and love it. Men just always seem to expect a hairless woman. When we eventually fucked most of the men didn’t really care and just went with it.”
Is there a meaning behind why you do it?
“Not really. I just believe a woman with hair is more beautiful. And shaving, waxing or plucking is so exhausting, expensive and unnecessary. Body hair is natural, why doesn't society accept that? Also, hair is a natural protection of your body. It protects against filth, bacteria, sweat and even STD’s. A recent study proved that. So why shave or why would you want girls to shave?”
How do you feel about our society’s beauty standard?
“It’s wrong. Women didn’t even shave until the 1920’s, when fashion got a tiny bit more provocative. Gilette decided to introduce a razor in 1915 for women so he could just make more money. Knowing that, it seems like madness, doesn’t it? It was pure advertising and had nothing to do with what made a woman a woman. Even last week I saw this insane Phillips add for laser hair removal. What is this desire society has for shaving our legs even more efficiently? When I overthink it, it kinda emphasizes pedophilia. Think about that. Anyway, there are many women who diverge from the beauty standard and are amazingly beautiful in their own way. Of course there are women who still shave for themselves because they feel better that way. I support that too.”
What do you want guys to know for once and for all?
“A woman who feels like a woman is a woman. Done. Whether she’s braless, hairless, wearing sweatpants or has a bush. And by the way: just because there’s hair, doesn’t mean there’s less hygiene. You can have a ton of hair and shower every day. Obviously.”
